If the Lawyer claim isn't just more of his BS, then he must be a pretty bad one, otherwise he wouldn't have found himself in this situation.
Reckless and ignorant people are usually the ones to hire Lawyers, not be lawyers themselves. |

Big difference between mocking someone and telling everyone to drive them to suicide. |

Karadion wrote:good job internet lawyer. Now here's something you didn't know. The EULA applies to the game, not fanfest.
An EULA violation results in dismissal from the CSM.
Do try to keep up. |

The game rules don't make any distinction about where you release peoples real world information. It simply says doing so is actionable.
For example, opening a website to release EVE players real world information is also not allowed. |

Ahh, just watched it again, thought he gave the guys RL name, not that of his character.
Doesn't really matter, though. It's not like we need several EULA violations to justify his boot. Simply telling thousands of EVE players to drive another player to suicide is more than enough.
And if he was really a lawyer for any length of time he'd know the "just joking" defense doesn't stand. |

Ladie Harlot wrote:You are wrong. Anybody who threatens suicide over a video game deserves to be mocked.
He was not mocking someone about threatening suicide, he told people to make someone kill himself. You can say he was just kidding, but in the grown-up world that doesn't work very well.
I think you're smart enough to know all that, and are just playing dumb. |

EnderCapitalG, as fun as blaming the victim is, you can't freely run over jaywalkers because they should be on the crosswalk.
Just because he gave you the opportunity doesn't mean you're justified to act on it. |

It actually is very illegal to harass someone with the intent of them committing suicide. But you're still playing dumb, which is seemingly very easy for you.
Pedestrians are supposed to only use crosswalks, yet when they do not they are still protected. Similar to how people shouldn't say they're depressed or considering suicide to strangers, but are still protected from abuse from those strangers.
The fact that so many Goons are unaware of self restraint is kind of scary. Just because someone makes themselves vulnerable doesn't mean you have to attack, ya bunch of sociopaths. |
